Author! Author! Come to the library to meet authors, and aspire to become an author!
Writer’s group will meet Wednesdays at Voluntown Public Library on March 26 and April 30 at 7:00 p.m. (please note the time change to 7 p.m.) On March 26 at 7 p.m. the library will present a special program featuring Patricia D’Ascoli, award winning journalist and publisher of Connecticut Muse “How to Get Published” March 26 at 7 p.m. at Voluntown Public Library . This informative one hour program offers tips to writers on how to submit their completed work to a variety of online and print publications. Ms. D’Ascoli will have copies of her book Diary of a Mediocre Mom available for sale. Then, on June 25 at 7:15 p.m., Glen Cheney, local author of Thanksgiving: the Pilgrim’s First Year in America will also speak about publishing.
Author talk: Thrill Killers : A True Story of Innocence and Murder Without Conscience by Detective Raymond Pingitore, and Paul Lonardo, is about the gruesome murders of Amy Shute &Jason Burgeson, two college students carjacked in Providence, RI in June 2000 & taken to a nearby golf course where they were shot execution-style, without conscience or motive. Co-author was Detective Raymond Pingitore, who was the lead investigator on this tragic double murder case, and helped the victim’s families pursue federal carjacking convictions to induce the death penalty against the five murderers because RI is not a capital punishment state. Co-author, Paul Lonardo of Rhode Island will speak Tuesday April 8 at 7 p.m.
